Locating EQs:
- Since S waves travel at a relatively constant fraction of the P wave velocity, we use the time elapsed between the P and S wave arrivals to estimate distance.
- A constant distance from a seismometer plots as a circle of that radius.
- At least three seismometers at different locations -> three circles -> one point where they all intersect.
